From the Panama Canal's opening day to present, nearly a million ships have passed through the mighty locks. Encompassing tragedy and triumph, Spanish kings, conquistadors and five different American presidents, the building of this massive project spanned 400 years. And today, nearly 100 years after its completion, the Panama Canal remains one of the most vital trade routes in the world.
In addition to Panama's man-made marvel, this voyage includes some of nature's most amazing creations in the Caribbean, Mexico and Central America.
This itinerary features a 11-day cruise with 9 ports of call, including meals and entertainment are inclusive.

Panama Canal—the epic destination.
Cutting through 51 miles of Central American jungle, mountain and stone—and connecting the great Atlantic and Pacific oceans—is one of history’s greatest engineering marvels. The Panama Canal first opened it’s locks to the seafaring public on August 15, 1914 and the worlds of commerce and travel were forever changed. Visiting the Panama Canal is on every adventurer’s life list.
Acapulco, Mexico
Enjoy a relaxing pre-night stay in beautiful Acapulco
from the famed cliff divers of La Quebrada to the terrific shopping at the Zocalo (town square) to any of an array of spectacular beaches in this oasis of leisure on the Mexican Riviera.
Huatulco, Mexico
This sleepy fishing village is ideally situated between the Sierra Madre Mountains and the Pacific. Here you’ll enjoy exploring nine coves and over 20 miles of unspoiled beaches.
Puerto Quetzal, Guatemala
Named for the sacred Quetzal bird of legend that calls the region its home, Guatemala’s Pacific Coast gem is a gateway to the charming capital of Antigua. Of course, you may choose to visit beautiful Lake Atitlan which is surrounded by three volcanoes.
Puerto Corinto
From this quiet Nicaraguan port, you can set out for the capital of Managua. You may want to visit Leon with it’s old colonial buildings and stunning La Asuncion Cathedral, and the nearby San Jacinto bubbling mud pots.
Costa Rica (Puntarenas)
The main attraction from Puntarenas or Puerto Caldera is undoubtedly the nearby Monteverde Cloud Forest Preserve, one of the world’s most scenic natural places. Costa Rica’s fascinating capital, San Jose, is another destination of interest.
Cristobal
Head for the colorful markets and excellent shopping of Colon, where you’ll find leatherwear, beads and other local crafts. Or, set out for the historic pirate town of Portobello.
Ochos Rios, Jamaica
Here you’ll find the breathtaking 600-foot limestone-tiered Dunn’s River Falls. Or visit gorgeous Shaw Park Gardens or historic Prospect Plantation.
